The Book Fair is Coming!!! The Book Fair is Coming!!

Mark your calendars for November 8-12. . . the book fair will be rolling into PDS!! Watch for the flyer in their folders. . .the theme is Reading Saves the Day! This is the primary source of fundraising for the library and your generosity has helped the library tremendously in the past. The students are so excited to get to go, and I love that they are still excited about books!

PDS Students Love to Read!

Eight million words and counting!! Be sure to follow the widget; it changes every time a student takes a quiz on a book. PDS students read over 500 books in September! We have new computers and projectors thanks to money raised at the book fairs. The Accelerated Reader Store will be October 14th.

Widgets!

Be sure to notice the "widget"(the graphic with the owl) on the right of the page. It displays the number of books that students at PDS have read, the number of words in those books, and the titles of some of the most recently read books. It updates automatically as students take AR tests! Can you believe that PDS students have already read more than a million words in less than one month?!

Accelerated Reader

Students are already taking AR quizzes on books they read this summer and first through sixth graders have books checked out. Please help the little ones remember to bring their books back on their library day.

Be sure to notice the link to the right:  AR Book Finder.  Use this site to see if a book that you have read has an AR test.  Click on the link, type in a title, and then click on the picture of the books to find the book levels and the interest levels and a brief summary of the book. PDS has access to AR tests on most any book that you have read.
